New Appointment to Accelerate Growth Americas

Richard A. Weeks
President of the Americas
SSH Communications Security

SSH Communications Security, known the world over as the inventor of the secure shell protocol, has announced the appointment of Richard A. Weeks as president of the Americas. In this role, Weeks will be responsible for managing all phases of Americas profit and loss activities, including sales, marketing, customer support and administrative functions for the United States, Canada and Latin/South American markets.

Weeks brings over 25 years of broad IT technology business development and sales experience to the position.  Prior to joining SSH, he was vice president of business and channel development at Cyber-Ark Software, a global market leader in the fast-growth information and cybersecurity software sector. At Cyber-Ark, Weeks was responsible for Americas resellers, global technology relationships and monetized strategic alliances, including federal integrators and “Big Four” firms.

“Large organizations are bracing for a ‘brave new world’ of advanced persistent threats as the rate and severity of malicious data breaches continue to grow,” said Tatu Ylönen, SSH CEO.  “Richard’s targeted experience in data security fortifies the foundational strength of the SSH team as we position the company to solve the challenges associated with SSH key discovery, security and lifecycle management via our innovative Information Assurance Platform.  We are pleased to have Richard join our team at this critical time.”

Weeks has held positions of increasing responsibility in IT operations, network engineering, direct and channel sales and business development for groundbreaking firms such as Proteon, 3Com, Fidelity Investments, Top Layer Networks, Aelita Software and Quest Software.  In these roles, Weeks focused on enterprise solutions servicing the emerging governance, risk and compliance (GRC), audit and cybersecurity software markets.   An Air Force veteran, Weeks studied information systems management and development at the University of California, San Diego and management information systems at Northeastern University, Boston.

“I am honored to join the SSH Communications Security team,” said Weeks. “SSH’s talented personnel and unmatched expertise as the inventor of the SSH protocol have ideally positioned the company to capitalize on critical emerging segments of the enterprise compliance and cybersecurity software markets. I look forward to boosting Information Assurance Platform adoption while navigating SSH through the next phase of our accelerated growth in the Western hemisphere.”
